‘Nalanda Boduhanda’ – the Official News Letter of the Old Nalandians’ Buddhist Association (‘ONBA’), was launched in January 2008 and is published quarterly since its inception.

The Old Nalandians’ Life Saving Club has come forward to sponsor the publication of the ‘Nalanda Boduhanda’. Being one of the most active societies in the school, ‘Nalandian  Lifesavers’ have not only been extending their voluntary services at various annual life saving campaigns but also doing a noble service to the nation through their life saving activities at the Mount Lavinia beach on every Sundays.

The Old Nalandians’ Life Saving Club has so far been able to rescue more than 600 lives. We wish to take this opportunity to appreciate their gesture of goodwill and may the blessings of the Triple Gem be with them to continue their good work in the betterment of the fellow countrymen.

As a kind response for the request of ONBA on its scholarship fund, Old Nalandian Association of Australia donated Australian dollars 500 on 17th November 2009. The cheque was handed over to the principle Mr. Hemantha Premathilaka by the secretary of Old Nalandian Association of Australia, Mr. Chandima de Alvis. Honorable Chief Advisor Ven. Kuppiyawatthe Bodananda thero, President Mr. L.A. Perera and many executive members of the association were present at this occasion. Associations’ sincere thank goes to Old Nalandians Association of Australia, its President Mr. Ananda Mendis and for the members of the association.

Another damma discussion session for Grade 09 students of Nalanda Vidyalaya, was held at the school Language Center on 04th November 2009. Session was conducted by venerable Kotte Santhindriya thero. This was the 05th consecutive session held by ONBA Damma Discussion Project.

On 04th November 2009 ONBA official web site was launched by Venerable Kotte Santhrindiya thero at the launching ceremony held at Principles office of Nalanda Vidyalaya. Principal Mr. Hemantha Premathilaka and ONBA executive office bearers were present at this ceremony.
